Little Green Man at Rowrah – Cumbria – Freddie Slater

Despite a difficult time at Rowrah last month, Freddie wanted to make amends at what is his favourite track in the country. Ever since his success here in Bambinos, the Rowrah circuit has been close to Freddie’s heart come rain or shine. As the heatwave continued, Round 5 of the Little Green Man series was held over 2 days.

Practice on Saturday was successful as Freddie and his teammate William were the fastest on track. Over 7 sessions the team tested all the equipment to get the perfect set up for Sundays race. Starting p5 in the first heat Freddie got to the front and with a commanding lead won by over a second. The second heat saw Freddie start 18th and climb to 3rd in only a few laps as the race was mostly raced under a caution flag.

Again starting 18th in heat 3, Freddie made great progress to finish 5th place; these great heat finishes secured the pole position for Freddie, giving him valuable extra points for the Championship.

The final was held over 15 minutes and was a tall order for the youngsters in the scorching heat. However, this didn’t effect Freddie’s performance as the Fusion duo broke away at the front with Freddie leading the way. Opening up the gap to the rest of the field it was a simple battle between the two at the end. The two changed positions on the last lap, however it was Freddie that pulled off a great move at the second to last corner leaving the crowd stunned. A 1-2 finish for the team and an extension of the championship lead for Freddie!
