PfiLgm 1-2 October 2016 – Freddie Slater

Coming to the hardest track in the country with the most competitive group of drivers was always going to be a hard challenge for Freddie. However he made a strong impression none the less. Mixed weather in practice made the set up difficult and driving conditions inconsistent. Posting top ten fastest time in both dry and wet conditions Freddie was showing his intentions for the heat races. Maintaining position in the first wet heat Freddie finished 17th with all the more experienced seeds above him. Starting at the back of the grid in heat 2 Slater climbed 9 places to 22nd. Heat 3 was more impressive bringing home a 9th position.

Starting on the 7th row for the final was a huge achievement for Freddie and everyone has noticed the youngest pushing high up on the grid. The final started perfectly with Freddie slotting into the top ten. With ultra strong pace he pushed up the grid into 7th. As it was looking like the dream race Freddie was then pushed off the track by an older driver and unfortunately brought it home in 19th position. Despite the result the potential shown being that high up in the final race was impressive from the 8 year old.
